PART 2:

The entire ballroom was silent as Sophie Miller walked through the doors of the Ashford mansion with snow on her coat and a boy holding her hand. Ryan Ashford stood frozen next to his new fiancée, Vanessa, while the diamond necklace around Vanessa’s throat gleamed under the chandelier. Sophie didn’t come to beg, cry, or explain. She came for something that belonged to her son.

Vanessa touched the necklace and smiled as if Sophie was nothing more than an interruption. Sophie calmly said that the necklace had once been hers, and inside its clip was her late mother’s small necklace. Ryan remembered that immediately. He had hidden that lock there years ago, when he was still in love with Sophie.

Ryan orders Vanessa to remove the necklace, but Vanessa taunts Sophie. She called the boy a charity in front of everyone. The child stepped forward, trembling but brave, and said, “I’m not charity.” He then looked across the room and saw Ryan’s childhood portrait above the fireplace.

The boy stared at the portrait for a long moment. The same black hair. The same serious gray eyes. The face is the same, only younger. Then he asked Mom, why did that boy look like you? ”

The Party dies in one sentence. Ryan turned from the portrait to the child, then to Sophie, his face losing all color. He asked how old the boy was. Sophie replied, “Five.”

Ryan says it’s impossible. His mother, Eleanor Ashford, immediately agreed and insisted it couldn’t be true. But Sophie wasn’t worried. She said, “No. It’s made to look impossible. ”

Sophie then takes an old medical folder from her coat. Inside were records, dates, emails, and evidence that Ryan’s family had lied. She revealed that she was pregnant when Eleanor accused her of adultery. The medical records Ryan believed were fake.

The family doctor, Dr. Marcus Bell, falsified the documents. He did it, it seemed like Sophie was never pregnant with Ryan’s baby. Then another set of records showed that she had been with another man. Eleanor paid him to destroy Sophie’s truth.

Ryan opened the folder and witnessed the evidence with his own eyes. Sophie tells him that she has been trying to contact him for years. The mail was returned, the call was blocked, and when she once came to the gate with her child, the security guard threatened to arrest her. Ryan looked at his mother and finally understood that the silence had been arranged.

Vanessa tried to remove the necklace as if it were trash, but Ryan stopped her. He took it off himself and put it in Sophie’s hand with an embarrassed face. Then he saw the boy’s slip. On the child’s hand was the crescent-shaped Ashford birthmark that Ryan had carried with him since birth.

Ryan touches the trail and breaks. He asked if he had done anything wrong. Ryan whispered no, but the truth broke it all. The child is his.
