Once an operator locks onto a target in the preliminary approach, the on-board software takes control, autonomously tracking and pursuing moving armored vehicles or infantry positions during the critical final seconds of flight—even if communication channels are jammed.

Classified as a “missile drone,” the Bars occupies a lethal middle ground between a traditional, expensive cruise missile and a slow-flying attack drone. Designed specifically for rapid assembly, its composite airframe uses minimal parts, while its miniature turbojet engine is mounted externally atop the rear fuselage to streamline maintenance and allow flexible engine sourcing.

With an operational range reaching up to 1,000 kilometers and cruise speeds between 400 and 450 km/h, the system gives Kyiv a low-cost, combat-proven mechanism for hitting critical military infrastructure, air bases, and logistics nodes deep inside Russian territory.
