NBA Fans Want Shaquille O’Neal Fired From TNT After Disappointing Mistake

Shaquille O’Neal is getting crushed on social media this Wednesday, and rightfully so.

On Tuesday, Shaq and the rest of the TNT crew got into a debate about the Detroit Pistons and their impressive 2024-25 season. This discussion started with the Hall of Famer ripping the Pistons for being a “boring” team that won’t compete for a championship.

“You want to brag about a team that’s 32-26? Stop it. That’s not success. 40-20. We talked about it,” Shaq said. “Bro, Detroit Pistons ain’t winning no [expletive] championship. Stop it.”

When O’Neal finally tried to give the Pistons credit, he congratulated Chauncey Billups on the job h’s done this season as their coach.

Well, Chauncey Billups isn’t the head coach of the Pistons.

Shaquille O'Neal on TNT.

“I like what Chauncey is doing. Those guys play hard,” O’Neal said. “My favorite player on that team is Isaiah Stewart – big body, hard guy.”

After Candace Parker called out Shaq for this mistake, he replied, “First of all, I don’t watch Detroit, how about that? I messed up, OK? I made a mistake.”

“Fire Shaq, man. I’m tired,” one fan said.

“He’s a trash analyst. Fun personality but he’s not a good analyst,” another fan wrote.

“NBA media is a trash fire and Shaq is one of the leading reasons why,” a third fan declared.

This isn’t the first time that Shaq has made an embarrassing mistake on TNT, that’s for sure.

At the end of the day, Shaq has made it very clear that he’s not interested in watching every NBA team. And he doesn’t have anything good to say for the teams that he monitors on a week-to-week basis.

The Pistons deserve a lot more credit from the national media, but Shaq won’t be the analyst leading the charge on that front.
