Gisele Bündchen Reflects on Life in Boston, Career, and Family During Marriage to Tom Brady

In an exclusive conversation with W Magazine, Gisele Bündchen, the supermodel whose name has become synonymous with fashion’s highest echelons, opened up about the quieter, more introspective years she spent in Boston during her marriage to NFL superstar Tom Brady. Known for her poise, ambition, and larger-than-life presence on runways around the globe, Bündchen revealed a side of herself rarely seen by the public: a woman navigating personal growth, family life, and a career in transition.
“I had moved to Boston and was living a much quieter life,” Bündchen told W Magazine in an article published June 10th. “Early in my career, everything was about achievement and saying yes to every opportunity. Over time, I began to understand the importance of finding balance.”
The move to Boston, far from the familiar chaos of New York fashion circuits and the relentless pace of international modeling, marked a turning point in Bündchen’s life. Away from the cameras and the constant public scrutiny, she found the space to explore her personal priorities and the deeper meaning behind her work.
Bündchen credited her spiritual practice as a guiding force in this period of her life. “My spiritual practice helped me become more present and more connected to myself instead of focusing on external expectations,” she said. “I started paying attention to how I felt internally. That changed everything—not only my work, but also the way I experienced life.”
This journey of self-reflection coincided with her relationship with Tom Brady. Bündchen and Brady first crossed paths in 2006, though their relationship officially began in 2007. A whirlwind courtship led to their engagement in 2009, a period during which Bündchen balanced the demands of a world-class modeling career with the responsibilities of life in Boston and the growing role of motherhood.
In the interview, Bündchen described how relocating and slowing down provided her with a chance to reassess her personal and professional life. While modeling had been defined by relentless schedules, red carpets, and global travel, life in Boston offered her a rhythm centered on family and internal growth.
“I realized that saying ‘no’ sometimes was just as important as saying ‘yes,’” Bündchen shared. “It allowed me to focus on the things that truly mattered: my health, my well-being, my children, and my connection to myself. That perspective has stayed with me ever since.”
Throughout their marriage, Bündchen and Brady were often portrayed in the media as the ultimate power couple: the model whose career and poise captured the world’s attention, and the football icon whose dominance on the field became legendary. Yet behind the glossy magazine covers and paparazzi flashes, the couple faced the same challenges any family does when navigating career ambitions, parenthood, and personal growth.
Bündchen reflected on the duality of her public and private life. While her early career had been about seizing every opportunity, she noted that true fulfillment came from finding equilibrium between ambition and self-awareness. “At first, I thought life was only about achievements and external validation,” she said. “But as I learned to listen to myself, I realized that presence and balance were far more powerful than any accolade or runway appearance.”
The couple’s journey together spanned nearly two decades, a period marked by both professional milestones and the expansion of their family. Brady and Bündchen welcomed two children, who have remained the center of their shared world. Despite their high-profile status, both parents emphasized the importance of stability and love in the home, often shielding their children from the glare of public attention.
On October 28th of last year, Bündchen and Brady confirmed their separation through social media, noting that they had recently filed for divorce. In a joint statement on Instagram, the former couple wrote:
*”We arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together. We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the center of our
