PART 2:

By the time Adrian Pierce realized Isabella and Liam were gone, London knew his embarrassment. The headline hit the internet before he could even comprehend the empty crib in front of him. One photo shows him inside the Ritz with Victoria Blake, champagne raised, hands on his sleeves, while his wife is alone with the feverish newborn.

His assistant Marcus stands at the door with the tablet, silent because there is nothing left to soften. The video is worse than the photo. Adrian’s own voice passes clear enough to ruin him: “Wife is sleeping, darling.” In that moment, he understands Victoria is not his escape – she is his trap.

The call began immediately. Investors demanded answers, lawyers warned him about the exposure, board members whispered about fame, and journalists gathered outside his building before noon. But Adrian stood in the nursery with Isabella’s note in one hand and Liam’s blanket in the other. When his CFO said they could control the story, Adrian laughed and asked, “Can you find my wife?”

No one could. He called Isabella eighty-six times, but all the calls came to voicemail. On the fourth day, a ping credit card led him to a bookstore in Porto, Portugal. Adrian flew there that night with Liam’s little blue socks in his jacket pocket, rubbing the cloth as a prayer.

The bookstore owner remembered Isabella, but she refused to help him. She said Isabella bought children’s books, paid cash, and asked about renting on the beach. When Adrian pleaded for the place, the woman simply said, “If she wanted you to know, she told you.” For the first time, his money meant nothing.

Two days later, his investigator found Isabella’s abandoned car near Vigo. No phone. No bank use. No ticket in her name. She didn’t disappear as a frightened woman – she disappeared as someone who planned every step.

Then, in the middle of the night, Adrian receives a message from an unknown sender. “You taught me that power can destroy everything. Now you’ll learn what it’s like to lose it.” Accompanied by a photo of Isabella on a coastal road, holding Liam against her chest. She looked tired, thin, but not broken.

Behind her is Daniel Hayes, Isabella’s brother. Adrian remembered him well – the former military medic had never trusted him. Minutes later, Daniel calls from a blocked number and tells Adrian a word: “Safe.”

Adrian begged to see his son, but Daniel’s answer interrupted him. “You need to answer your phone.” When Adrian said that he had made a mistake, Daniel corrected him. “Nope. You’ve created a model. ”

Daniel later reveals the truth Isabella found out before she leaves. Offshore accounts. Charity transfers. Internal calls. The deals Adrian thought were buried forever. Isabella knows it all – not just about Victoria, but also about the dirty money behind her empire.

Adrian accused Daniel of blackmail, but Daniel’s voice remained cold. “Nope. I’m protecting her. Someone should have done it sooner. And before Adrian could answer, the line was dead.
