Michael Jordan made a big claim about Steph Curry back in 2019.
Steph Curry delivered a measured take when NBA legend Michael Jordan commented on whether he should be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Curry is still going strong despite being in his late 30s, having registered his 4,000th career 3-pointer in Golden State Warrior’s win over the Sacramento Kings last Friday.
The 37-year-old, who has won four NBA championships with the Warriors, is aiming for a fifth title this season as ‘Shaq’ believes he should be in the GOAT conversation.

Curry is improving his status as an NBA legend with every outing on the court, but Jordan believes the current basketball superstar is not a Hall of Famer yet.
Speaking to NBC’s Craig Melvin in 2019 via Complex, six-time NBA champion Jordan said: “He [Steph Curry]’s still a great player.
“Not a Hall of Famer yet, though.”
Curry responded to Jordan’s claim by stating that he still has a lot to prove to himself.
“I think I’m good, but then I’m never complacent,” he told Matt Welty during an interview for Sole Collector.
“I know I have more to prove to myself. When you hear a guy like that, who’s the greatest of all time, it’s kind of funny.
“Since we’ve been on this stage, we’ve heard a lot of retired guys chiming in on this generation of basketball players and evaluating talent and saying their generation was better and all that.
“It’s a great conversation for the fans to get in on.
“I know I’m in good shape for that, but I still have a lot to prove to myself.”

Since Jordan’s comments over five years ago, Curry has achieved several impressive accolades, including winning a fourth NBA championship in 2022 and wining gold at the Paris Olympics in the summer of 2024.

Curry is destined to join Jordan in the Hall of Fame, with ‘MJ’ landing a spot in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame back in 2009 alongside legends John Stockton, David Robinson and Jerry Sloan.
