Snoop Dogg’s Daughter Cori Returns Home From Hospital After ‘Severe’ Stroke
Snoop Dogg’s daughter, Cori Broadus, has returned home after a week-long hospital stay following a “severe” stroke. On Wednesday, January 24, Cori, 24, shared the good news with her followers on Instagram, expressing her gratitude and relief after undergoing an extensive evaluation.
“My CT scan of my chest came back normal and I’m going home today. I can probably cry omgggg,” Cori wrote via her Instagram Story. “Thank you thank you for the continuous prayers, love, etc.”
She later posted a photo of her homecoming, showing a heartwarming “welcome home” sign displayed in her living room.
The troubling news of Cori’s stroke first came to light on January 18 when she revealed on Instagram that she had been admitted to the hospital after suffering a “severe stroke.” In a raw post from her hospital room, Cori shared the shock she felt upon hearing the diagnosis.
“I started breaking down crying when they told me,” she wrote. “Like I’m only 24, what did I do in my past to deserve all of this?”
Her mother, Shante Broadus, paid tribute to her daughter’s strength with an emotional post on social media. “To The Strongest Person I Know. My Baby. My Warrior,” Shante, 52, captioned a throwback photo of Cori. “Honored God Chose Me To Be A Vessel To Bring You Into The World. My Princess 👑 💜 💜.”
Snoop Dogg, 52, also shared his wife’s post on his own Instagram Story, showing his love and support for Cori during this difficult time.
Cori is Snoop and Shante’s only daughter. The couple, married since 1997, also has two sons: Cordé, 29, and Cordell, 26. Snoop is also a father to Julian, 26, whom he shares with Laurie Holmond.
Earlier, Cori had opened up about her ongoing health struggles, especially after revealing her lupus diagnosis in September 2023. “I stopped taking all of my medication like five months ago,” Cori told People, explaining her journey to better health. “I’m just doing everything natural, all types of herbs, sea moss, teas. I started working out, drinking lots of water. So now I think my body’s like, OK, this is the new program and she’s getting used to it.”
Lupus, a disease where the body’s immune system attacks its own tissues and organs, was first diagnosed in Cori when she was just six years old. At the time, she was on daily medication, relying on pills to manage her condition. But after years of dependence, Cori felt she needed a change. “I’ve had medication since I was 6 years old, depending on these drugs all my life. So I wanted better for myself,” she told People. “I wanted to change because it just became a lot. I’m only 24 years old, taking 10 to 12 pills every single day. So I kind of just went cold turkey.”
Cori acknowledged the challenge ahead, saying, “It’s a day-by-day process” as she made these significant life changes. “If I can do a whole 360 change and just get healthy all around, I think I would be so good,” she continued. “Things are going to take time. Nothing is going to happen overnight.”
Cori’s health journey is ongoing, but she remains determined to find the balance that works for her, and her family is cheering her on every step of the way.
