A’ja Wilson Earns Franchise Record With Las Vegas Aces

Las Vegas Aces superstar A’ja Wilson has officially secured the most rebounds in franchise history after bringing down her third rebound against the Washington Mystics on Saturday. According to the Aces,

Wilson surpassed Sophia Malcolm-Young’s record for total rebounds, previously held at 1,808.

Wilson entered the game leading the league in rebounding with an average of 11.3 through the early season. She’s also No. 1 in terms of scoring, earning an average of 28 points. The two-time MVP has cemented herself as the most versatile player in the league, breaking lasting records at 27 years old.

Despite the elite play from Wilson, Las Vegas has dealt with surprising struggles this season. The back-to-back defending champions currently hold a 9-6 record as the No. 5 team in the WNBA.

Wilson’s WNBA career has drawn debates regarding her status as the greatest women’s basketball player of all time. She’s already produced a Hall of Fame level career as a 2x WNBA MVP, 2x WNBA Champion, 2x Defensive Player of the Year, and 5x All-Star.

Her rebounding record now adds to her list of accolades. Wilson hasn’t just produced at a high level; she’s consistent in her craft and has made a major impact early in her career.
