There was a perfect storm when it came to the first media availability of Super Bowl LVIII.

The “Opening Night” festivities are a wild time as every player from the Chiefs is brought in for questions, and there are usually some odd queries.

Mix in the fervor of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce’s relationship with superstar singer Taylor Swift, and add a pinch of “What Happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas,” and, well, the Opening Night questions were all over the map.

Kelce was asked a number of questions about his main squeeze, Swift, who won Album of the Year at Sunday night’s Grammy Awards.

Here is what he said …

On Taylor Swift’s new album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department’

Kelce was asked about Swift’s upcoming album, titled “The Tortured Poets Department.”

“I have heard some of it, yes, and it’s unbelievable,” Kelce said. “I can’t wait for her to shake up the world when it finally drops.”

That album is set to release on April 19.

Kelce’s favorite song on the new album

Swift announced the track list for the record, and Kelce was asked his favorite song on the album.

“I can neither confirm nor deny that,” Kelce said.

On Taylor Swift’s win at the Grammy Awards

While the Chiefs prepare for Super Bowl LVIII, Swift had the chance to bring home her own hardware at the Grammy Awards.

Swift’s recent album “Midnights” won album of the year.

“She’s unbelievable,” Kelce said. “She’s rewriting the history books herself. I told her I’d have to hold up my end of the bargain and come home with some hardware, too.”

Favorite Taylor song?

One X (formerly Twitter) user posted a video of Kelce responding to this question with … “Anti-Hero.”

Perhaps it’s fitting as the Chiefs embrace what D-tackle Chris Jones said is a villain role in Super Bowl LVIII.

Swifties joining Chiefs Kingdom

Roger Goodell isn’t the only Swiftie from the NFL world. And that’s a world that is growing, Kelce noted, thanks to the superstar singer.

“She’s definitely brought a lot of new faces to the game,” Kelce said. “Taylor has an unbelievable fan base that follows her and supports her throughout her life. It’s been fun to kind of gather the Swifties into Chiefs Kingdom and open them up to the football world and the sports world.”

“What’s it like dating Taylor Swift?”

That was a question posed directly to Kelce, and his answer was short and sweet.

“Man, I tell you what, it’s a wild experience,” Kelce said. “But I’m enjoying and loving every bit of it.”

On Swifties becoming fans

Kelce deflected credit for Swift’s fans (Swifties), who have become NFL fans. He then praised her fans.

“I think Taylor’s fan base is absolutely unbelievable,” Kelce said. “The support she gives her (fans), the support that they give (to things) she supports and what she loves in this world … it’s been awesome to see the NFL expand in that regard and hear just how many young girls are getting into the game of football and are enjoying those moments with their fathers and their loved ones. It’s been awesome to hear.”

Advice for Swifties who are new NFL fans

“I hope you enjoy it. I hope we we’re putting a game out there that’s enjoyable for you and that you can support and gather around,” Kelce said. “And don’t forget to cheer for the Chiefs.”

Valentine Day’s plans

Multiple people tried to get Kelce to share his plans for Valentine’s Day, but he played it coy.

“I’ll tell you what, man, I’m not thinking about anything but this football game,” Kelce said. “There’s nothing in my mind that’s happening until this football game is over with.”

Going Down Under?

After Swift plays four dates in Japan this week, she’ll head to Australia … with a trip to Las Vegas squeezed in between. Will Kelce make the trip Down Under?

“We’ll have to see,” he said. “I don’t know what the future holds right now. I’m just focused on this game and everything afterwards I’m sure will play out.”

On his trip to Argentina to see Swift

During the Chiefs’ bye week in November, Kelce traveled to Argentina to see Swift perform. He was asked about that trip.

“Man, I’ll tell you what, I’m excited that we’re bringing the NFL down to Brazil next year,” Kelce said of the Eagles opening the 2024 season in Brazil. “On top of that Argentina was an absolutely beautiful place. The empanadas, the food was unbelievable. The wine was delicious as well. But I was blown away by the fans down there. I was blown away by the excitement. How rowdy they were. How excited they got. How loud they were. It was it was a beautiful sight to see. Ultimately the game finds its way all the way down to Argentina.”

Walking the walk

A reporter from Nickelodeon asked Kelce who would be walking the stage better in the upcoming week: Taylor or Travis.

“She’s the pro. She’s the professional, but something about this field and this stadium and being in the Super Bowl, sometimes I show off,” Kelce said.

A big crowd around Kelce

As you’d expect for Opening Night. There’s no shortage of interest in the Chiefs tight end.
