Travis was in 8th grade, I was in 7th, and his school was slated to face off against mine,” Jones recounts. “The entire school day buzzed with excitement, whispers of ‘Travis is coming up here to play today.’ And as Travis emerged from the visitor locker room, a throng of kids from my middle school awaited him, chanting his name all the way to the field.”

Kelce’s imposing stature amidst his peers was unmistakable. “He was a giant among mere mortals,” Jones reflects. “And his trademark stride down the corridor, with kids from the opposing school trailing behind, left an indelible impression. It was unlike anything I’d seen before.”
