Former LSU star Hailey Van Lith hasn’t committed to TCU, at least not for the time being.
Van Lith, who spent the 2023 season with the Tigers playing under Kim Mulkey and alongside Angel Reese, is leaving the program to revert to her natural position after experiencing a lapse in scoring.
Various outlets claimed the 22-year-old was set to join the Horned Frogs after LSU failed to defend its national championship at March Madness. However, she hasn’t actually committed to TCU, although she is “very interested.”
“I did take a visit to TCU and am very interested in them, but I took visits to other schools and was very interested in them, too,” Van Lith told Doug Feinberg of the Associated Press. “I haven’t made an official commitment, but I’m very close. The ink has not touched the paper for any school.”
Hailey Van Lith’s Scoring Took A Huge Dip At LSU
Hailey Van Lith spent her first three college seasons playing for Louisville. She led the Cardinals to the Final Four in 2022 but could only take them as far as the Elite Eight the following year.

She moved to LSU in 2023 but struggled as a point guard, averaging 11.6 points and 3.6 assists per game, having averaged 19.7 points per contest the previous year. The Tigers were eliminated from the NCAA Tournament, going out to Iowa at the Elite Eight stage in what was a rematch of last year’s national championship game.
Van Lith has one year of eligibility remaining because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it will be interesting to see where she lands ahead of her final college season.
In the meantime, the guard is in training camp with the USA Basketball 3×3 team set to play in Paris this summer.
