Jason Kelce Jokes That He Barely Ran While Participating in a 5K to Raise Money for Autism
The Philadelphia Eagles star made a surprise appearance last week at the New Jersey event.
Anyone praising Jason Kelce for running a 5K event to support autism may want to grab Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary.
The Philadelphia Eagles star on Wednesday reacted to the adulation by tweeting that “ran” is “a generous verb for what occurred” last weekend during his surprise participation in the Mike’s Seafood Polar Bear Run/Walk for Autism in Sea Isle City, New Jersey.
Call it a Swift walk?
In any event, photos and video of Jason pushing his way through the course have popped up all over social media. One video shared by the sports betting site FanDuel and Mike’s Run/Walk for Autism Instagram accounts shared video of Jason running across the finish line. The launch image is a still photo from the video with the words “Jason Kelce Ran a 5K for Autism” emblazoned across the pic. The video shows Jason jogging and crossing the finish line before grabbing a bottle of water and bending over with his hands on his knees as he catches his breath.
“It’s impossible to not love Jason Kelce,” the caption reads.

Jason earned praise for his participation from just about everyone, and that included Tanner Smith, the season 2 breakout star from Netflix’s Love on the Spectrum. Tanner re-posted a SportsCenter post on his Instagram Story and added star-eyed and clapping emojis.
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Jason’s previously taken part in events in the Garden State benefiting autism. He repped the Eagles Autism Foundation when he took part in the My Cause, My Cleats charity event up there, serving as a celebrity bartender. And he’s no stranger to Mike’s Seafood, the Polar Bear Run/Walk organizer. The owner told the outlet that he and the rest of the Kelce family frequent the seafood joint.

Jason, of course, is no stranger to helping a good cause. In 2022, he launched the (Be)Philly Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to improving the lives of the city’s youth. In November of that same year, Jason also launched the clothing line, Underdog Apparel, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting Philly’s children.
Jason’s little bro, Travis, is also huge on helping out his community. Just recently, Travis partnered up with the protein-packed breakfast company, Kodiak, and Operation Breakthrough, to donate 25,000 hot meals to the children of Kansas City. Travis is also the founder of Eighty-Seven & Running Foundation.
By the way, Jason may stand at an intimidating 6-feet, 3-inches and weigh 282 pounds, but the guy can move, and move fast. Back in 2011 while at the NFL Combine ahead of being drafted out of the University of Cincinnati, Jason ran the fastest 40-yard dash among all offensive linemen.
He clocked in at an impressive 4.89 seconds.
