The NFL player described his Irish wolfhounds as ‘gentle, loyal, majestic lapdogs.’Who Is Jason Kelce's Wife? All About Kylie McDevitt Kelce

Jason Kelce had some loving words for his massive Irish wolfhounds, Winnie and Baloo, even as he warned fans that this particular dog breed might not be the best fit for everyone.

An X user who listens to New Heights, the podcast that the Philadelphia Eagles center co-hosts with his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, asked Jason for an honest review of his dogs. The listener appeared to be on the fence about getting one and said they wanted to “come to the source directly” to ask if they “need an Irish wolfhound in my life.”

Jason was quick to respond, writing on X that Irish wolfhounds are “wonderful animals” and that he “absolutely” adores his own.

“Very loving and connected with their humans. Not for everyone though,” he warned. “If you travel a lot, have limited amount of space, keep food on the counter, and have nice furniture, they may not be for you.”

The fan then followed up to ask if the “gentle temperament” that Jason’s dogs appear to have is “actually true or not.”

“They seem like really overgrown lapdogs and what could be better?” the fan tweeted.

Jason confirmed that his dogs “very much are.”

“Incredibly gentle, loyal, majestic lapdogs that hate being away from their owners,” the NFL player advised.

Irish wolfhounds are large dogs that can grow to be over 100 pounds. They tend to be affectionate with family members and can be well-behaved around young children and other dogs, according to the American Kennel Club.

While Jason openly gushes about his dogs, he has been more resistant to his wife Kylie’s suggestion that they add a cat into their family mix. Even so, Kylie told Parade earlier this month that the couple has “discussed it briefly here and there.” She has already come up with a few names for a future feline addition—including Yeti, which is also one of her brother-in-law Travis’ nicknames.
