A four-year-old tweet from Pro Football Hall of Famer and ESPN “Monday Night Football” analyst Troy Aikman regarding Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has resurfaced…and it certainly hasn’t aged well at all.
Back on Sept. 23, 2019, Aikman responded to a statistic about Mahomes throwing 36 percent of Aikman’s career touchdowns in roughly eight percent of games played. Aikman responded with, “Talk to me when he has 33% of my Super Bowl Titles”.
After Mahomes led the Chiefs to a second straight Super Bowl championship on Sunday, Aikman’s tweet resurfaced:
And as you’d expect, social media was full of priceless reactions:
With Sunday’s win over the San Francisco 49ers, the Chiefs became the first team to win back-to-back Super Bowls since the 2003 and ’04 New England Patriots.
