NFL roasts Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes one more time with Texas WR Xavier Worthy 40-yard dash Simulcam

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes had one small request from the NFL ahead of the 2024 Scouting Combine. In the name of comedy, they simply couldn’t oblige.

Producers for NFL Network have made it a habit over the years to use Patrick Mahomes’ 40-yard dash time from 2017 in their Simulcam to illustrate how fast (or slow) players are at the combine. He ran a 4.8s 40-yard dash, which is respectable, but not always when you’re being compared to others who play different positions.

Mahomes asked the league to cut it out this year, but they didn’t do that. Instead, they tortured him by putting him in a Simulcam with several defensive linemen, including one from his alma mater, Texas Tech. That wasn’t the end of it, though.

Patrick Mahomes vs. Xavier Worthy 40-yard dash Simulcam

With a new 40-yard dash record-holder, the NFL roasted Mahomes once again. They pitted Xavier Worthy’s 4.21s official 40-yard dash time against Mahomes in a whole new Simulcam video.

Mahomes wasn’t even in the frame when Worthy finished his run. Hopefully, it’s something Worthy and Mahomes can laugh about together in April after Kansas City takes him with pick No. 32. They’ve already taken an interest in the Texas speedster even before his record-setting 40-yard dash time.
