Jackson Mahomes has been sentenced to six months of probation after pleading no contest to his misdemeanor charge of battery this week.

Super Bowl winner Patrick Mahomes’ 23-year-old brother was sentenced after his plea on Thursday, per online court records, and two months after three of his four total charges were dropped in connection to his arrest last May.

The influencer was initially charged with felony sexual battery last year after he was filmed by security cameras at Aspens Restaurant and Lounge in Overland Park, Kansas, in February 2023, allegedly shoving an employee, grabbing the owner by the neck and forcibly kissing her three times.

Those three sexual battery charges were dismissed, per online court records, and Mahomes was sentenced on Thursday in Johnson County Kansas District Court, where he appeared via video conference, the Associated Press reported.

“Jackson is thankful for the support of his family and friends during the last year. Jackson pled no contest to a single count of simple battery and he was given six months of unsupervised probation,” Mahomes’ attorney Brandan Davies told PEOPLE on Saturday.

“Jackson simply wanted the case to be over with and to move on with his life, the matter is now closed and we will not be issuing any further statements,” he added.

Restaurant owner Aspen Vaughn previously told The Kansas City Star in 2023 that the location where the incident occurred closed down partly due to negative publicity stemming from Jackson’s case. She revealed at the time that Aspens Restaurant and Lounge had been vandalized, and she received death threats.

Vaughn told the Star that Mahomes, who was friends with her stepdaughter (an employee of the location), went to the restaurant’s basement office with five friends and “forcibly kissed me out of nowhere.”

“And I’m telling him, pushing him off, saying ‘What are you doing?’ and then he proceeded to do it two more times,” Vaughn said last year. “Where the last time I was pushing him off, and I can see on the cameras that somebody was outside the office door, and I was yelling for them to come help because he’s big and massive.”

Surveillance video shared by TMZ showed Mahomes apparently kissing the owner as she appeared to push him away. The Star also reported that Mahomes is alleged to have shoved a young male waiter out of the room.

The AP reported in early January that Mahomes had his sexual battery charges dropped because Vaughn refused to testify against him. Davies told PEOPLE after the three charges were dropped that his client “has done nothing wrong.”
