Angel Reese has her best WNBA game as Sky rally to top Caitlin Clark, Fever
In their third WNBA meeting, Angel Reese finally got the better of Caitlin Clark.
Reese had her best game as a pro, dominating with a career-high 25 points and 16 rebounds while leading the Sky to a victory over the Fever in an 88-87 thriller on Sunday in Chicago.
The 22-year-old Reese, whose layup broke a tie with 53 seconds left, extended her WNBA rookie record with her eighth consecutive double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing five rebounds in the fourth quarter.

The Sky (6-9) trailed by 12 with 6:38 left in the fourth but outscored the Fever 18-5 for the rest of the game to snap Indiana’s four-game win streak.
“I’m a dawg, you can’t teach that,” Reese said during her on-court interview. “I’m gonna go out and do whatever it takes to win and every single night my teammates rely on my energy. So being able to continue the energy even when we’re down, even when we’re up that’s what I do.”
Indiana (7-11) won the first two matchups between the teams this season.
Clark scored 17 points and set a franchise record with 13 assists, but she did not take a shot over the final two minutes, her final attempt coming on a missed 3-pointer with 2:19 left and the score tied 84-84.
“I’m sure there was an opportunity or two for me to probably attempt another shot there at the end, but I trust my teammates,” Clark told reporters. “Obviously 13 assists, that means my teammates scored off of 13 of my passes. It’s a really great number so I’m going to give them the ball every time. Give them an opportunity to score. I believe in them.”
The No. 1 pick also had six rebounds and four steals.
“I never want her to not be aggressive and take shots,” Fever coach Christie Sides said before specifically referencing a moment with the Fever down by one in the closing seconds of the game.

Reese, who was called for a flagrant foul after whacking Clark in the head during their previous meeting last Sunday, shot 8-for-12 from the field and made nine of 11 free-throw attempts.
Reese became the first rookie since A’ja Wilson with 25-plus points and 15-plus rebounds in a single game.
Sky guard Chennedy Carter, who committed a flagrant foul with a blindside hip-check on Clark during the teams’ first meeting, scored 23 points on 8-for-12 shooting with five assists.
While Clark appeared to escape Sunday’s game unscathed, things were chippy between Reese and Fever forward NaLyssa Smith throughout the game, and they were each called for a tech with 3:12 left in the fourth after a spat.
