ANGEL REESE EXTENDS WNBA RECORD AS CHICAGO SKY EDGE OUT SEATTLE STORM, SPARKS SEAL OVERTIME ACES WIN

Angel Reese made more headlines on Friday night as she extended her WNBA record for double-doubles in a thrilling 88-84 win for the Chicago Sky over the Seattle Storm. Elsewhere, there was a thrilling 98-93 overtime win for the Los Angeles Sparks over the Las Vegas Aces. The Dallas Wings also ended a patchy run of form with an 85-82 victory over the Atlanta Dream.

Angel Reese has now scored a double-double in a record-extending 12 consecutive WNBA games, as the Chicago Sky claimed a pulsating 88-84 victory over the Seattle Storm.

It was a landmark evening for Reese, who continued her stellar progress this season with a career-high 27 points and 10 rebounds.

She leads the division in both rebounds and offensive rebounds, averaging 11.8 and 4.8 per game respectively.

WNBA: PLUM STARS AS ACES CLAIM SIXTH STRAIGHT WIN AFTER OVERPOWERING MYSTICS

Chennedy Carter top scored for Chicago with a season-high 33 points, as the Sky claimed their eighth win of the season.

Skylar Diggins-Smith also made a telling contribution after finishing with 12 points and nine assists for the Sky.

Jordan Horston led the way for Seattle with a season-high 20 points of her own on 8-of-11 shooting, while Nneka Ogwumike and Ezi Magbegor added 16 and 13 points respectively.

It was a disappointing blow for the Storm, who were starting to pick up form in recent weeks. This result ended a double-digit four-match winning streak.

Chicago have now won four of their last six games, with their two losses in that time coming against the Las Vegas Aces and Minnesota Lynx.

SPARKS END EIGHT-MATCH LOSING RUN

Elsewhere, Dearica Hamby and Aari McDonald starred for the Los Angeles Sparks in their superb 98-93 overtime win over the Las Vegas Aces.

It was a morale-boosting victory for the Sparks, with this result ending a record-equalling run of eight defeats in a row.

Hamby took 28 points and 14 rebounds, while McDonald had a career-high 23 points, which included four 3-pointers.

Rickea Jackson and Stephanie Talbot added 13 and 13 points each, with the latter getting a career-high nine assists for the Sparks.

A’ja Wilson managed 35 points and 12 rebounds for the Aces and Kelsey Plum took 21, but it was not enough to continue a six-match winning streak for Las Vegas.

DALLAS WINGS OVERCOME ATLANTA DREAM

Meanwhile, the Dallas Wings edged out the Atlanta Dream with an 85-82 win which ended their three-match losing run.

Arike Ogunbowale claimed 19 points, while Jacy Sheldon scored five 3-pointers in a 17-point haul to secure only a second win in their last 16 matches.

Alisha Gray was the Dream’s top scorer after taking 19 points, eight assists and seven rebounds, and Haley Jones achieved a season-high total of 16.
