Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has been one of the hottest and most consistent topics in sports right now. However, Dallas Cowboys icon Dez Bryant called out the media over the the lack of praise directed at Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese for her impressive first year in the WNBA.
Reese was a highly-touted recruit out of high school, earning McDonald’s All-American honors in 2020. At Maryland, she had a strong freshman season before a foot injury, then was named a 3rd-team All-American as a sophomore.

She then transferred to LSU, where she blossomed into a superstar. In her junior season, she was a unanimous 1st-team All-American and led LSU to its first national championship, earning Most Outstanding Player honors. As a senior, she was named SEC Player of the Year and a 2-time 1st-team All-American.
The NCAA champ hit the ground running in her WNBA career when Chicago selected her using the seventh pick, becoming the first rookie since 2022 to record five straight double-digit scoring games. She made an immediate impact, grabbing the second-most offensive rebounds in a season’s first five games, trailing only all-time great Yolanda Griffith. Reese continued her dominance, setting a league record with seven consecutive double-doubles in her rookie season.
Dallas Cowboys Icon Dez Bryant Calls Out Stephen A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe Over Angel Reese Disrespect

Just recently, Bryant called out Smith and Sharpe over allegations that Reese isn’t getting the same praise and attention she deserves from the media. In a tweet on X, the former Dallas Cowboys star did just that to the two sports analysts.
“I don’t see much praise on the historic rookie run Angel Reese is having in her Rookie year @stephenasmith @ShannonSharpe where y’all at? She deserves the high praise right now!” Bryant tweeted.
In response, Smith defended himself and Sharpe from Bryant’s allegation. This can be seen in a tweet he posted on X using his official account.
“Man, for once, will you stop your B.S. @ShannonSharpe has praised her continuously. So have I, even profiling her excellence on numerous occasions. It’s on our social media pages @stephenasmith. We’ve talked about her on @FirstTake. If you want notoriety, just say so, bro! You need attention? Just ask to come on the damn show. But stop lying!” Smith tweeted.
While Smith and company do cover news related to the Chicago Sky rookie, Bryant’s perspective may come from seeing Clark getting more mileage from the media. Even if that’s the case, Reese is heating up on the court, as evidenced by a string of her recent games.

It remains to be seen what kind of change will occur after Bryant calling out the media over Reese’s lack of coverage. In any case, it looks like the former Dallas Cowboys star’s business against Smith or Sharpe won’t be over anytime soon.
