Aces defeat Fever in front of historic crowd
The Aces won their fifth consecutive game, defeating the Fever 88-69, to improve their season record to 11-6. With the loss, the Fever’s record falls to 8-13 on the season.
The Aces made history with 20,366 fans in attendance, the fifth largest crowd in WNBA history. It’s also the highest WNBA regular season single-game attendance since 1999.
Aces Fever
The first quarter was a battle of the Kelsey’s, with Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell leading the way with nine points and Aces guard Kelsey Plum leading the Aces with nine. Caitlin Clark went 0-3 in the quarter, finishing with 3 points, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds.
A’ja Wilson started the quarter 0-3 from the field but heated up towards the end, scoring the final 6 Aces points and finishing with 8 points. The Aces led the Fever 26-24 after one quarter of play.
A’ja Wilson scored six of the Aces first eight points in the second quarter, as they went on an 8-4 run to start the quarter, leading 34-28.
Caitlin Clark scored her first field goal in the second quarter after going 0-3 in the first. The Aces led 46-37 at halftime, with A’ja Wilson leading the way with 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Caitlin Clark struggled in the first half, going 1-7 from the field for 5 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists.
Caitlin Clark came alive in the third quarter, scoring 8 points on 3-5 shooting while dishing out two assists. Indiana kept it close by dominating the rebounding battle in the quarter 16-7, but the Aces still led 65-59 entering the fourth quarter.
The Aces offense took over in the fourth quarter, going on a 10-0 run to a 75-59 lead. They went on to outscore the Fever 23-10 in the quarter and win the game 88-69.

A’ja Wilson, named Western Conference Player of the Month earlier today, scored 28 points on 13-22 shooting. Wilson also contributed significantly on defense, finishing with two steals and five blocks.
Jackie Young also finished in double figures, scoring 15 points, 10 assists, and four rebounds. Young is also making a case for Defensive Player of the Year after slowing down Caitlin Clark tonight and consistently taking on difficult assignments.
Indiana finished with three players in double figures, led by Kelsey Mitchell, who had 23 points, 4 rebounds, and five three-pointers. Aliyah Boston finished the game with a double double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Caitlin Clark struggled early, going 0 for 3 from the field, but finished with 13 points, 11 assists, and 6 rebounds. Nalyssa Smith finished with five points and fourteen rebounds.
The Las Vegas Aces will return to action on July 4th, when they face the Mystics at Michelob Ultra Arena. The game begins at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast live on WNBA League Pass.
