Caitlin Clark’s Six-Word Take on Lisa Bluder’s Retirement is Turning Heads

Caitlin Clark is just hours away from facing off against her best friend and former Iowa Hawkeyes teammate Kate Martin.

Prior to the first time Clark’s Indiana Fever and Martin’s Las Vegas Aces faced off, their former head coach at Iowa Lisa Bluder was sitting courtside to watch them in person.

The current Iowa coach Jan Jensen (who was an assistant during Bluder’s reign) was also there to spectate.

During a press conference on Monday, Martin noted that Bluder will be there for Tuesday’s showdown.

And Bluder proved this with an Instagram photo of her alongside Clark, Martin, and former Hawkeye Megan Gustaffson on Tuesday.

“Thank you, Cami for hosting us at the Westgate casino and resort!” Bluder’s caption wrote.

And Clark had the post’s most-liked caption.

“Love you coach ! My retired queen,” Clark wrote.

Although Bluder never managed to win a national championship while at Iowa, taking two consecutive teams to the NCAA championship game and helping turn Clark into a global superstar is deserving of a great retirement.

But her presence at the Fever vs. Aces game on Tuesday shows she clearly can’t stay away from the game for long.
