Angel Reese made WNBA history on Sunday afternoon despite the Chicago Sky falling to the Minnesota Lynx by the final score of 70-62.

Reese remained a force on the glass, pulling down 16 rebounds in just under 35 minutes of action. Although she shot just 4-16 from the field, she connected on a free throw with less than a minute remaining in the fourth quarter to finish the game with 10 points.

She became the first player in WNBA history to record 10 consecutive double-doubles in a single season, breaking a tie with two-time MVP Candace Parker.

The former LSU standout also did a commendable job on the defensive end of the floor, as Lynx star Napheesa Collier finished with just 13 points while shooting 38.5 percent from the field.

With her dominant performance on the boards, Reese moved into the league lead in rebounding average as well as her total rebounding amount.

Fans were still impressed with her accomplishment despite the loss.

Following Sunday’s defeat against Minnesota, Chicago fell to 6-11 on the season as a whole. After winning back-to-back games, the Sky have now dropped two straight contests. Reese will look to extend her streak and help Chicago get back in the win column during the team’s next matchup against the Atlanta Dream.
