Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese has been through quite a range of emotions of late. Recently, the former LSU superstar was reduced to tears after being named an All-Star in her first season in the WNBA.

Congratulatory messages have come from all over for Reese, and a recent one from WNBA legend Lisa Leslie has drawn another burst of emotion from the 22-year-old.

“You know I appreciate you so much,” Reese wrote.

In her tweet, Leslie gave Reese her flowers as the Hall of Fame center expressed how proud she is of what the Sky rookie has accomplished thus far. Leslie also sent a veiled shot at the six teams that passed on the 6-foot-3 forward during the 2024 WNBA Draft.

For her part, Reese could not help but get emotional in her response. She added a teary-eyed emoji in her tweet as she thanked Leslie for the latter’s lofty praise.

There’s no denying that Reese has had a massive impact on the league in her debut season. This young lady has arrived and she’s here to stay.
