Former LSU women’s basketball star Angel Reese is setting the bar high ahead of her first WNBA season.

Reese, who led LSU to the national title in 2023, was the No. 7 overall pick in this year’s WNBA Draft. Her landing spot? The Chicago Sky.

Unlike other sports, rookies don’t have much time to train and practice ahead of their first season. Believe it or not, Reese and Sky play their first preseason game of the 2024 campaign on Saturday, May 4. Reese isn’t going to use the short prep time as an excuse, though.

During her introductory press conference with the Sky, Reese set a bold goal for her rookie season: “I want to dominate.”

That’s a tall task for a rookie, especially in the WNBA. But Reese is going to try and live up to the standard she’s set for herself.

Reese’s mindset is clear: She’s willing to work for her spot in the WNBA.

The expectation is that Reese will be a foundational piece for the Chicago Sky this upcoming season. First, she’ll have to check all the boxes in weeks leading up to the 2024 season.
