Angel Reese didn’t need a consistent jump shot to win the WNBA Rookie of the Month Award for June.

She also didn’t need it to set a WNBA record for the most consecutive double-doubles, with 11.

But Reese is showing a whole new facet of her game on Friday.

Reese has shot a perfect 2 for 2 on three pointers during the Sky’s game against the Seattle Storm.

These were the first two three’s Reese has ever made in the WNBA.

And Reese’s fellow rookie Caitlin Clark (who is known for her extraordinary sharpshooting ability) is catching strays on social media as a result.

One X user posted a video of one of Reese’s three pointers with the caption, “Angel > Clark with 3s!”

“She’s earning that ROY title,” said another fan. Clark and Reese are the clear frontrunners for the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year Award.

“Aye, the way Angel is playing tonight…. For the first time all year, I give Reese the edge on ROTY. Clark better not have a stinker tomorrow lol,” said a third.

Let’s see whether Clark will be able to produce a solid performance against Sabrina Ionescu and the New York Liberty on Saturday.
