WNBA Fans Roasting Indiana Fever Coach Christie Sides Over Caitlin Clark Take

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever suffered a brutal road loss to the Seattle Storm on Thursday, 89-77. Clark finished the game with 15 points, having just nine field goal attempts. The Fever falls to 7-12 on the season.

Fever head coach Christie Sides spoke on Clark’s attempts after the game and fans had a frenzy with her comments.

“Caitlin Clark needs to shoot at minimum 15 shots a game for us. She’s gotta get shots, we got to do a better job of setting her up and setting some really good screens for her to get her open,” said Sides via Matthew Byrne on X.

While Clark leads all rookies with an average of 16.3 points this season, she’s been used as more of a facilitator in the Fever’s offense. The rookie also leads all first-year players with 6.6 assists.

Sides received major backlash online since many WNBA fans blame her for Clark’s limited attempts. They believe it’s the coach’s fault, and there needs to be a change in the staff in order to get more opportunities for the rookie.

Indiana and Sides will have a chance to give Clark those scoring chances in their next matchup on Sunday against the Phoenix Mercury.
