Post-NCAA, fans are now excited to see their favorite stars play in the WNBA. Two of the biggest NCAA women’s college stars – Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese were drafted by Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky respectively. However, the press conference day for both the stars had extreme variations. And this had the fans blaming Chicago.
While Clark was dressed up in a single piece with a coat, and looked her best, Reese, on the other hand, came in a hoodie. There was a grand reception for Clark with hugs and excitement and a red carpet. Meanwhile, the celebrations for Reese were ordinary.
Fans empathize with Angel Reese and slam Chicago Sky
A video of the same was posted on X by YouTuber Nicole’s View. The video listed the differences in the conference despite both stars having amassed the same respect in their NCAA career. It also brought forth the point that since both stars committed, the tickets for the Fever and the Sky games have skyrocketed. Hence, Reese and Clark are doing somewhat similar service for the WNBA.
“Caitlin is the #1 pick and her team is banking on her. Chicago Sky organization probably doesn’t really care about the team in general,” one user commented. The fan pointed out the fact that Clark was the top pick in this year’s WNBA draft. And given her NCAA popularity the Fever is banking on her to rebuild the team. The fan was also quick to express that the Chicago team doesn’t care about their players.

Another user also noted the vast dissimilarity in their welcome and empathetically extended his support to Reese. “I feel bad for her on that note smh,” the netizen commented.

“That’s alright, her play is gonna do everything needed to get her the respect she deserves,” a follower stated. Notably, Reese finished as one of the best players for the Louisiana State University Lady Tigers. She had taken on the onus of bringing her team glory in 2022-23 season. Even in the last year with the LSU she averaged a double-double.

“How many WNBA games have you gone to in your life? Are you a season ticket fan? If not why?,” one internet account was quick to comment on the disparity between the NBA and WNBA. As per WSN, the average attendance in the NBA game is 17,184 while in the WNBA it is 5,679.
