Pregame notes

The Mystics are on their second West Coast trip of the season. They just beat the Sparks in L.A. in an impressive come-from-behind win after trailing by 12 to start the fourth quarter!

They now face the Aces for the second time in roughly a week. Last week they fell to the Aces 77-88 in D.C. in a game that could have gone either way. They were down 75-77 with just 5:30 minutes in regulation, but the Aces went on a 11-2 run to seal the game.

Now the Mystics head out to Nevada for a tough road rematch with the Aces, shortly after having playing them at home.

This time around the Mystics hope to have fresher legs down the stretch and better execution. Of course, it will be tough as they are on the road and playing the second game in just 48 hours, while the Aces have played their last game at home (against the Indiana Fever), and the Aces are of course a rather strong team. On the other hand, Atkins is the only player that topped 30 minutes in Tuesday’s win in L.A., so perhaps there is room for optimism.

This will be an extremely tough game for the Mystics! But anything is possible, and the Mystics will certainly make a statement with a win against the Aces to show that something is clicking in the past couple weeks and maybe the season is turning around in a way.
