Angel Reese gets technical foul, Flau’Jae Johnson mocks Texas A&M and teams separated in skirmish

Texas A&M showed its frustrations with LSU after going down by more than 30 points early in the second half of an SEC showdown in College Station, and the Tigers didn’t back down.

Angel Reese received a technical foul for her role in a tense exchange with Texas A&M players.

LSU women’s basketball star Angel Reese received a technical foul for jawing with Texas A&M players on Monday night in a heated incident that involved multiple players on both sides.

Her teammate, Flau’Jae Johnson, mockingly pointed at the scoreboard during the skirmish to remind the Aggies they were getting throttled at home. LSU went on to win 81-58.

Reese’s initial foul trying to block a field goal attempt from behind with a swipe-down seemed to set off Texas A&M.

With tensions rising, Reese and Johnson exchanged words with their counterparts, who at one point surrounded Reese before referees told the teams to return to their respective benches.

LSU is trying to build momentum in the last stretch of its college basketball campaign.

Kay Kay Green, a senior Aggies guard, also received a technical foul following a replay review.

Moments after play resumed, Texas A&M drew an offensive foul on Reese – her fourth foul of the contest – and the players on the floor let the LSU forward know about it.

Then, in the fourth quarter, LSU freshman Mikaylah Williams was whistled for an intentional foul due to excessive contact, as referees deemed she acted inappropriately with a defensive swipe.

Despite some passionate play from Texas A&M as it tried to show fight in the second half, LSU managed to keep its conference foe at bay in the final period.
