Caitlin Clark
Iowa star Caitlin Clark discussed a viral play from the end of Friday night’s win over UConn while speaking with reporters after the game.
The Hawkeyes star is headed to the National Championship game for the second straight year after scoring 21 points to help her team edge one step closer to silverware in her final college season.
While she had the clamps on her for most of the first half, Clark made some big plays during the Final Four matchup, including one that saw her throw an inbound pass into Huskies star Paige Bueckers’ back to run time off the clock in the dying moments.

The move pretty much sealed the deal for the Hawkeyes, who were up by one point at the time, and they went on to win 71-69.
Clark explained the thinking behind the play during her post-game press conference.
“I watch a lot of basketball. I understand basketball. She had her back turned to me,” she said.
“The biggest thing at that point in the game is you just want the clock to go down. You don’t want to give them the ball, but she had her back completely turned so I was just trying to waste some clock. It just came to my brain. So I just went for it and it kinda worked.”

Caitlin Clark Is Just One Win Away From Her First National Title
While Caitlin Clark had a poor first half – thanks to intense defensive pressure from UConn’s Nika Muhl – she was on point when it counted.
The 22-year-old will hope to clinch a national title when Iowa takes on the South Carolina Gamecocks on Sunday.
Caitlin and the Hawkeyes lost to LSU in last year’s final but took care of the Tigers in their Elite Eight clash earlier in the week. She’s now just one win away from the biggest achievement of her college career.
