Ever since her arrival in the WNBA, many have found animosity surrounding the Indiana Fever star, Caitlin Clark. Among them is Angel Reese, her NCAA peer, who has been brought to light by Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy.

During his appearance on the “Pat Bev Podcast”, the basketball enthusiast discussed the rift between the two WNBA rookies. Exposing the Chicago Sky forward, Portnoy stated, “I would respect and like Angel more if she just ate it. If she was just like, ‘You know what? I f***g hate her. And I’m going to go at her, and I’m going to make my mission to make her life miserable.’ … But she doesn’t do that. She acts that way. And then she acts, like, people are making it up.”

He further added that Reese did the same to Clark in their college days and her actions still continue. Portnoy claims that he would have appreciated the former if she had been genuine about her negative feelings instead of pretending to act friendly.

Reese’s past actions toward the former Iowa point guard have often sparked speculation of a potential feud between the two. She was even spotted celebrating after Clark and Chennedy Carter’s infamous altercation. This raised a lot of questions about their relationship. However, Clark was quick to dismiss the allegations.

Caitlin Clark Drops Verdict on Her Alleged Rivalry With Angel Reese

Caitlin Clark is not ready to accept her rumored rivalry with Angel Reese. She believes the entire story has been cooked by the media to attract more focus.

Clark told the reporters, “I’m pretty sure that the only people who view this as a rivalry is all of you.” The 22-year-old clarified that for them, “It’s just a game of basketball. That’s what it is. If it’s going to help move the game forward, then absolutely. That’s amazing. That’s what it should be. People can talk about it.”

The Fever have redeemed themselves in the league. From facing losses in consecutive games, they now have a 7-10 record, while the Sky are 5-9. The teams will meet on Tuesday, where Reese and her Chicago mates will get an opportunity to avenge their previous two losses from Clark and her Fever side.
