(YIKES!)| CAITLIN CLARK SILENCES CHENNEDY CARTER AND PROVES THAT SHE’S THE REAL DEAL!!!
College basketball’s biggest individual rivalry has spawned an even bigger following in the WNBA. And the third Angel Reese-Caitlin Clark professional matchup is set to have the most expensive tickets in WNBA history.
According to the website TickPick, the average purchase price for a single ticket for Sunday’s Indiana Fever versus Chicago Sky game is $291.
The cheapest tickets available are for $208, high in the nosebleeds, with the least-expensive ticket in the lower bowl going for $260.
In both previous Fever-Sky matchups, Clark has been at the center of controversy with an opposing player, with the latter time being Reese herself.
On June 1, Clark was body-checked by Reese’s teammate, Chennedy Carter, in a move dubbed by fans to not be in good faith with basketball.
Caitlin Clark has been at the forefront of the rise in popularity of women’s basketball
Reese, Clark’s main rival, has been a player in the sport’s rise, despite her bombastic nature
Carter refused to answer any questions on the matter in a post-game press conference, but did double down online stating ‘beside three point shooting what does she bring to the table man’ on Threads.
Last Sunday, Reese committed a flagrant foul to Clark when the former LSU star missed a block attempt and swatted Clark in the head with her arm, sending her rival to the ground in pain.
Reese also bad-mouthed Clark and her team to the press, stating they had a ‘special whistle’.
Both previous Sky-Fever matchups this season took place in Indianapolis and were won by the Fever.
Now, it will be Reese’s first time playing against Clark as a professional on her home court. A raucous, sold-out crowd is expected at Wintrust Arena, meeting the demand of the ticket prices.
‘I saw the ticket prices, I guess the only thing is I’m surprised we aren’t playing at the United Center,’ Clark said Friday night after a victory over the Atlanta Dream.
Clark then admitted she was unaware that rapper Russ has a show scheduled in the evening at the home of the Chicago Bulls.
‘I thought that would have been really good for the game and all the women’s basketball fans in Chicago,’ Clark continued. ‘Maybe there’s a conflict of some sort I don’t know about – obviously that’s a little above my paygrade.’
The United Center holds nearly 21,000 fans while the Wintrust Arena, the venue for Sunday’s game, holds less than half that at 10,000.
The Fever come into Sunday’s matchup having won four straight games. The matchup against the Sky is the beginning of a four-game road trip for Indiana.
