Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes praises Kansas City Royals after hot start

The Kansas City sports world is riding high with not only the Chiefs’ recent success but the reemergence of the Royals in Major League Baseball. The team’s exceptional start to the new baseball season has fans optimistic of returning to prominence in the American League, and part-owner Patrick Mahomes shares in the excitement.

Mahomes became a part-owner of the ball club last year after signing his record-breaking contract with the Chiefs. The former NFL MVP has been busy being a new father this offseason but continues to keep his latest investment in mind. He was out watching the team with his family on opening day.

The 25-year-old superstar expressed his excitement for the team’s hot start during Monday’s press conference.

“I mean, I think we have the best record in AL right now,” said Mahomes.”I know it’s by a couple of percentage points, but to see them starting so hot and really getting contributions from everybody on the team gives me optimism of having a great run. It’s carried over since spring training and will hopefully carry through the rest of the season.”

The Royals entered Monday with a 9-5 record sparking memories of the team’s 2015 World Series title run. Mahomes is far from a novice to baseball after growing up playing the game and living life as a son of a Major League pitcher. Chiefs fans are thankful that he ultimately chose to pursue a career in football over baseball.
