Angel Reese Leaves No Doubt About Playing with Former Rival Kamilla Cardoso
One of Angel Reese’s top rivals during his collegiate days at LSU was South Carolina forward Kamilla Cardoso.
Cardoso and the Gamecocks beat Reese and the Tigers in the SEC Tournament title game before making a run in the NCAA Tournament and winning the national title.
Funny enough, Reese and Cardoso now play together. Cardoso was the No. 3 overall pick and Reese was the No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Both picks were made by the Chicago Sky.
Rivals turned teammates, Reese holds no hard feelings towards her former rival, Cardoso. It’s just basketball, she says.
“It’s literally just basketball,” Reese said. “We’re just here to compete. Me and Kamilla competed hard all these years. Everybody has known that. But we’re just competitors and that’s just what we do.”

Reese and Cardoso shared an awesome moment in the Sky’s preseason opener.
Cardoso was shaken up during the game, and Reese was the first teammate to be by her side to help her up. It was pretty cool to see.
