The latest betting odds suggest that maybe the Los Angeles Chargers really are discussing a trade involving superstar quarterback Justin Herbert.
Citing a source, Antonio Brown’s CTESPN Network outlet reported that the Chargers were discussing a Justin Herbert blockbuster trade with the Minnesota Vikings. The source claims that the trade package going to LA would feature star offensive lineman Christian Darrisaw, the No. 11 and No. 23 picks and a conditional 2025 second-round pick.

Though anything Antonio Brown reports has to be taken with a grain of salt, one should keep in mind that CTESPN Network was first to report that Russell Wilson was set to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers
And here’s something else noteworthy about the Herbert trade speculation: The betting odds on what the Chargers will do with the No. 5 pick at the DraftKings sportsbook have drastically changed.
DraftKings has shared new betting odds on which position LA will address with its first-round selection. The offensive line remains the favorite at -175, with the wide receiver position next at +200. Cornerback is third with +600, but the quarterback position has jumped up to +800:

Well, that’s certainly something interesting to monitor as the 2024 NFL Draft draws closer.
Trading Justin Herbert Would Signal A Massive Chargers Rebuild
The Chargers have already retooled the roster significantly this offseason, having traded franchise icon and wide receiver Keenan Allen to the Chicago Bears. Mike Williams was released in a cap-saving move, and they let Austin Ekeler leave via free agency.
If new GM Joe Hortiz and head coach Jim Harbaugh want to rebuild the roster from scratch, then a Herbert trade can’t be off the table. LA would get a king’s ransom in a potential trade, and they’d be in position to draft a top QB prospect like LSU’s Jayden Daniels, North Carolina’s Drake Maye or Michigan’s JJ McCarthy (Harbaugh’s QB in Ann Arbor) with their wealth of first-round picks.
