Nicki Minaj hurls object back into audience after it nearly hits her in the face during Detroit concert
Last Saturday, Nicki Minaj became the latest celebrity to have an object thrown at her during a concert following similar worrying incidents with Bebe Rexha, Harry Styles, and Kelsea Ballerini.
The projectile, which appeared to be a bracelet, nearly hit the 41-year-old hip-hop star in the face had she not raised her right hand to block it.
Nicki (born Onika Maraj) then bent down to pick up the object before angrily hurling it back into the crowd as captured in numerous fan videos online.

Minaj looked stunned, mouth agape, for a moment before composing herself and continuing with her show at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
Adding insult to injury, the incident occurred while the 12-time Grammy nominee was performing her 2012 hit Starships, which she called ‘a stupid song’ that she ‘doesn’t like’ on New Year’s Eve.

However, Nicki – who boasts 353M social media followers – didn’t let the moment ruin her evening as she later called the concert ‘next level’ on Instagram, writing: ‘Detroit you da bestest! Until next time! Love you.’
Minaj was joined in Michigan by six-time Grammy nominee Big Sean as well as Honey Pack rapper-singer Sada Baby.
The Trinidad-born, New York-raised star got some good news last Wednesday when a judge granted a request from her husband of four years – Kenneth Petty – to travel internationally with her for her Pink Friday 2 World Tour, according to TMZ.
The 46-year-old ‘music industry professional’ – who’s serving three years probation for failing to register as a sex offender in California – will serve primary caregiver duties for their three-year-old son nicknamed ‘Papa Bear’ while Nicki is working.
Minaj was only 16 when she first met Kenneth, who served a combined 11 years in prison for raping a 16-year-old girl in 1995 and shooting a man to death in 2002.
The Big Difference rapper – who gets 51.1M monthly listeners on Spotify – is next scheduled to bring her 59-date Pink Friday 2 World Tour to the United Center in Chicago this Wednesday and Thursday.
