But The Weeknd, 27, may have struggled to concentrate on his steak tartare after his girlfriend Selena Gomez decided to go braless in a semi-sheer black gown when they headed out for a meal in New York on Tuesday.

The saucy popstrel, 24, certainly stood out in the racy asymmetric dress, which clung to her curves perfectly- but suffered an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction when it went translucent under the spotlight.

The figure-hugging frock skimmed her toned curves perfectly, and featured a pretty glitter-encrusted strap to one side.

However the thin material proved particularly susceptible to the flashlights, and became transparent under the click of the cameras.

And to make matters worse, as she clambered into the waiting car following her dinner date with her beau, she suffered the same fate.

With the dress becoming completely see-through, Selena’s thong-clad pert posterior was on full display as she exited the venue.

But apart from the embarrassing display, Selena put on an otherwise well put-together appearance.

The dress featured a high-low hemline, and an asymmetric slant showcasing her toned pins.

Wearing her brunette locks in a sleek high ponytail, the stunning beauty accentuated her almond eyes with statement eyeliner and opted for nude lips.

Elongating her pins with a pair of stiletto heels, she held onto her beau as they appeared more loved up than ever.

By way of contrast her Canadian other half, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, was wearing an altogether warmer ensemble of green jacket, shirt, jeans, trainers and baseball cap.

It is unlikely the 27-year-old singer would have been wanting any unwelcome distractions from his meal, as he had just performed an exhausting concert in the city.

Meanwhile a source recently told E! News Selena is ‘head over heels in love with Abel’.

‘This love is very mature and she is in a different head space now,’ E!’s source says of the romance, adding, ‘She has really found who she is and what makes her happy. She loves Abel and he loves her.’

The start of their relationship was clouded by the fact The Weeknd had previously dated Bella Hadid – whose sister, Gigi, was reported to be close to Selena.

Bella split from the R&B star in November after dating him for two years; with Abel’s loved-up outing with Selena seen just two months later.

Abel and Bella were reunited briefly at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Paris at the end of November in an awkward encounter where his ex pranced around in front of him in lingerie on the runway before he performed live.
