Social media detectives spotted something fascinating about the Kansas City Chiefs’ game-winning touchdown in overtime of Super Bowl 58.
The Chiefs clinched their second straight Super Bowl title when Patrick Mahomes found a wide open Mecole Hardman in the end zone for six, thanks to a crafty play call by Andy Reid to use short motion.
As noted by football analyst Warren Sharp and several other Twitter/X users, Hardman’s game-winning touchdown was awfully similar to Kadarius Toney’s fourth quarter TD in last year’s Super Bowl win against the Philadelphia Eagles:

With the victory, the Chiefs became the first team to repeat as Super Bowl champions since the 2003 and ’04 New England Patriots. With three championships in five years now, Kansas City has also cemented themselves as a 21st century dynasty.
Mahomes won his third Super Bowl MVP award after completing 34 pass attempts for 333 yards and two touchdowns against one interception. He also finished as Kansas City’s lead rusher with 66 yards on just nine carries.
Next year, the Chiefs will aim to become the first team ever to win three straight Super Bowl championships.
