Travis Kelce sparks controversy with his candid revelations about his alleged romance with Taylor Swift and her controversial NFL appearances
The pair have become one of the most talked-about couples in the world, causing a stir both in the entertainment and sports worlds. Swift has been spotted at 12 NFL games, including the AFC Championship, each appearance setting social media alight.
Kelce’s popularity has skyrocketed this season amidst the high-profile romance. Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, he shared his experiences of dating Swift. “It’s exciting for me but it’s all brand new,” he said.

“From having paparazzi follow me every single day to everyone having my name on their talk show every single day whether it’s sports or not sports, it’s been a crazy ride that I could’ve never anticipated but I’m having fun with it. The majority of the world is having fun with it, outside all the cranky NFL fans.”
He also revealed that Swift’s first game attendance back in September wasn’t a spontaneous decision. He explained: “We had known each other close to a month up to that point… it wasn’t just an out of the blue, ‘Hey come to the game!’”
Swift’s appearances at NFL games have been a major talking point of the 2023 season, introducing a new fan base to the sport. Front Office Sports reports that Swift has generated a brand value equivalent to $331.5 million for the Chiefs and the NFL – a positive impact, despite some fans’ frustration with her frequent appearances on game broadcasts.
However, Kelce isn’t bothered by this. He’s focused on performing for the Chiefs and enjoying his off-field relationship. “Hopefully everyone understands we’re just two people in a relationship supporting each other and having fun with it,” the tight end shared.
“It’s nothing more than that. No matter how much the world wants to paint us as the enemy, we just have fun with it and enjoy every moment. I absolutely love it when Taylor comes to support me and enjoys the game with family and friends. It’s been a fantastic year.”

When asked about any ‘hate’, Kelce said: “She’s dealt with it forever. We hear it but hardly ever discuss it. There’s nothing to even talk about or bring up.”
Since her first game in September, Swift seems to have brought good fortune to the Chiefs, who have won nine times on their way to the Super Bowl. Maybe with Swift cheering them on, Kansas City can secure a third victory in four years.
The Chiefs are set to go head-to-head with the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII, a repeat of Super Bowl LIV where Patrick Mahomes led Kansas City to an impressive 31-20 win. The 49ers managed to overcome a 17-point deficit to secure their spot in Las Vegas for the big match on Sunday, Feb. 11.
