It appears Tom Brady hasn’t shut the door on a return to the NFL.
The former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback retired from football “for good” last February, and it seemed like he meant it, given that he has actually stayed off the field for over a year. However, he’s admitted that he’s still open to a comeback.
Speaking to Vic Blends during an episode of the ‘Deep Cut’ podcast, Brady revealed there are three teams he would consider playing for if they called him: the Patriots, San Francisco 49ers, and Las Vegas Raiders.
“I’m not opposed to it,” he said. “I don’t know if they are going to let me if I become an owner of an NFL team. I’m always going to be in good shape. I’ll always be able to throw the ball. So, to come in for a little bit, like MJ [Michael Jordan] coming back, I don’t know if they would let me. But I wouldn’t be opposed to it.“
Blends used the Niners as an example as he asked whether Brady would be willing to suit up for the NFC side if they called him in the event of an injury, but the former QB would throw in his former team, as well as the team he is trying to buy into.

The seven-time Super Bowl winner reached an agreement to purchase a stake in the team last May with Raiders owner Mark Davis. However, the deal has stalled, though NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell claimed there was progress during the league’s annual meeting last month.
Should the purchase go through, Tom Brady would not be able to jump back onto the field without approval from the league’s owners.
Brady will also take up a television gig as FOX’s main commentator in the summer. He inked a deal to work for the network before he retired, so it’s been waiting on him for a while.
“I love having this challenge to try something different in my life,” he said. “It’s going to challenge me in a lot of different ways.”
We imagine the bosses at FOX will probably not be happy to learn that he is still open to an NFL return.
